Newcastle Fishing Forum requires that you sign up to become a member. We do this in order to control content on the board.
1. Please try to stay on-topic
Please keep the topics in the main forum areas fishing related. There are some instances where we allow post outside topic, but if you find that your post was deleted or moved, it is because we deemed it inappropriate to the section in which you posted, or it was in violation of other rules in this section. We have set up a forum called, Have your say section for open discussion - please post your non-fishing related comments there.
2. Administrative and Moderation policies, Issues and enquiries.
All questions concerning Newcastle Fishing policies and management are addressed offline via email or telephone. Comments concerning deleted post, posting
privilege suspensions, edited post, personal messages or any other matters of the administrative nature will be deleted, either by the admistration and moderators of Newcastle Fishing. We have the right here at Newcastle Fishing to maintain the forum in a manner that is in best interest for Newcastle Fishing. If you have a question about our policy, please email one of our moderators or myself. Again, don't take your problems to the forum - they will be deleted. Please email me
kyle@newcastlefishing.com
3. No foul language.
There are a few colorful words we occasionally let slide, but their overuse will result in a warning. There are a few words that never need to be used – we don’t need to mention them. Foul language makes Newcastle Fishing forum look trashy. Hopefully a lot of kids will benefit using this site, please think before you post. When writing, it is very easy to express yourself without cursing. Use **** if you need to. Sponsors make this site possible and it is much easier to get them interested if the site is a little cleaner than your average Internet forum.
4. Family Friendliness.
We promote a friendly atmosphere for anglers to exchange ideas. Differences of opinions are welcome and are an important part of this format. We do not, however, tolerate those that try to start an argument with every post. If you are looking to agitate people, simply to get a response, or if you are a troller, this is not the place for you. Warnings are issued, and if the behavior continues, administrators will revoke posting privileges, suspend your account or can even delete your account without any warning.
5. No personal attacks.
If you disagree with someone, state your case intelligently and back it up with facts. We will not tolerate personal attacks. You will be warned once. If the behavior continues, you will be banned from the forum. DO NOT HARASS PEOPLE WITH EMAIL WHEN YOU HAVE A DISAGREEMENT ON THIS FORUM.
6. Personal grievances and disputes.
Do not try to solve personal problems live on the forum. Most of the members aren't interested in watching you resolve personal problems live on the forum. If you are concerned about an interaction with someone and are interested in resolving it, send them an email (if they offer an email address in their forum profile). If you don't get a response, just let it go. They may not be interested in communicating with you.
7. Racism, Bigotry and prejudice of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in immediate suspension of the offending member.
8. Unauthorized advertising and Linking.
There will be no spamming, posting of nudity or advertising allowed on Newcastle Fishing. Advertising is only allowed by sponsors of this site. Anyone found doing any of these could be deleted, ban, or suspended without any warning. This includes website links or hints towards other websites, by other means of spamming
10. Attacks on Advertisers
We cannot allow attacking of our sponsors. They make the Newcastle Fishing possible and we have to respect the fact that they pay our bills. All threads of this nature will be deleted. It is a small price to pay for all the great information that Newcastle Fishing, has to offer
11. Classifieds
When posting items in the “Classifieds" section, Please state in your heading, if the item is for sale=[FS], want to buy =[WTB] or Swap = [SWAP] along with what your selling. e.g. [FS] Berkeley Drop Shot 6.6" Not following this rule will mean that your post will be deleted.
12. Images in signatures:
No signature image may be larger than 100 pixels tall by 700 pixels wide. This includes logos, photos and other graphics. Also, no more than 1 row of images are allowed. If you want 4 or 5 logos in your signature, reduce their size to fit in 1 row. A row of signature images must not cause the screen to scroll horizontally.
13. Limit your photo size.
If they make the screen scroll, they are too large. 800 pixels wide is the largest you need to go.
14. Legal catches and photos.
No person shall leave negative comments on another member for posting details or photos of any fish or catch that is classified as legal under NSW DPI Fisheries regulations or other authority subject to where the fish was or were caught.
In addition to this no picture shall be posted of any fish deemed undersize or of any catch in excess of regulated bag limits and or of species not legal to be kept in the waters where caught.
15.Slander or Defamation
When you make a complaint in writing, either by letter, fax or email, or by phone about a company or person in this industry, do not relate it to Newcastle Fishing. You are contacting the company on your own behalf not Newcastle Fishing.
If making a complaint about a sponsor/advertiser on Newcastle Fishing, take it up with them personally. Give them the courtesy first to rectify, fix, replace or explain the problem. Please also report any feedback to Admin(myself) or any moderators, which will be discussed further.
In saying and understanding what i have said above, we believe that you can voice your opinion about other services or products by other companies who are not sponsoring the site. The site sponsors should be given some preferential treatment in regards to promoting their products if they have shown to generally be a quality company in most aspects and protected them from unnecessary attacks that haven’t been attempted to have been resolved personally first.
By posting anything on Newcastle Fishing, which could be offensive, racist, personal attacks, or could bring a lawsuit towards yourself or Newcastle Fishing will be done at your own risk. Even though Newcastle fishing does it best to moderate anything posted on the site, sometimes post do slip through, and i will not held accountable for. All Ip address are recorded and stored on Newcastle Fishing and can be traced back to you via your ISP, and will be passed on to the appropriate authorites if required.
The admin or moderators have the right to edit, delete as already stated in the website rules as the see fit. Any abuse to the person who made the edit will first be warned or will be ban from Newcastle Fishing.
If multiple complaints were made about a sponsor providing bad service to our members we would likely reconsider the value of their sponsorship/advertising on Newcastle Fishing.
We will be updating this section occasionally. Again, our goal is an open, clean, and friendly family based format, but when you have a public board rules have to be established and followed. Newcastle Fishing or phpbb forums will not be held responsible for any matters that may occur. Please follow our rules.
Please keep in mind that deleting, moving, editing or locking of your post is not intended to be an attack or insult. These actions are usually to keep the peace, keep the interaction on the board friendly or keep content in the appropriate section
