Sick
of carrying those ugly looking PVC rod holders around,
you need something that is more versatile, compact
and easy to carry. Well you don’t have to look
any further. Let me introduce you to Brian Jose, the
inventor of BEACHMASTER the ultimate beach and rock
fishing accessory. I had the opportunity to use one
of these compact, easy to carry and very versatile
ultimate rod holders. Made out of high grade polished
stainless steel, a carry strap, and two locking nuts,
that secures your rod, and another one which drops
a spike, making it easy to insert your BEACHMASTER
into the sand or even locking it into a gap on a rocks.
So throw away your PVC rod holder and get you hands
on a BEACHMASTER a must for all your land based fishing
needs. To check out more about the BEACHMASTER, go
to their website by clicking

Newcastle Reports
Newcastle harbour has been fishing reasonable well lately when conditions are suitable to hit the water. The odd jew is being caught out the front after the fresh water flushes are sending bait out through the heads. Live yakkas, fresh squid and large lures are accounting for a few good quality fish. Inside the harbour, bream are feeding around the pilons and wharves, responding well to baits of live worms, fresh prawns and mullet strips. The key is to get a nice burly trail going, try bread, and tuna oil as a cheap and easy starting point. Stockton and Nobby's breakwalls are also producing bream on the insides as well as good catches of ludrick on fresh cabbage/weed. Be careful collecting any baits off the rocks with a death this week of a tourist who was swept of a local rock ledge (Snapper Point). On the ocean sides of the breakwalls, bream and tailor can be found, tailor mainly early in the morning and bream throughout the day. For those willing to brave the chilly night conditions, there have been some catches of hairtail in the basin area, fish around structure and float pillies on ganged hooks to catch them. Local fisherman Paul Smart had a great session one night recently when he found some large hairtail with a few coming aboard his boat around the 5ft long mark and some smaller ones to 3 ft in the mix, as well as tailor and flathead. There are plenty of chopper tailor resident in the harbour still which are happy to destroy soft plastic lures and pick at your baits.
Good luck and tight lines.

LAKE MAQUAIRE/SWANSEA:
Winter has well and truly set in with the cold weather making earlymornings and after dark sessions the domain of the keenest fishos amongst us.Unfortunately, many of the weekends are wet and windy due to the east coast lows that have been sitting off the coast recently. For those that choose to face the adverse conditions, they can be rewarded with tailor in the lake, with some noteably large specimens amongst them. To find the tailor, look for birds working and cast metal spinners at them. If you cant find any birds, troll
the deep water and drop offs with deep diving and shallow diving lures to locate the schools. There are also plenty of bream on the chew, with live squirt worms accounting for many catches around reefs and patchy weed. This time of year can see some big bream moving onto the reefs in the late afternoons. If you prefer to chase bream on lures,
don't be surprised if you find silver trevalley hitting your lures as they tend to become more prevalent this time of the year.If rgetting trevalley, you might like to try coal point area along to toronto and also in salts bay. They are particularly fond of pumpkinseed gulps in my experience. The rock walls are producing good ludrick with the rough eather burleying up these vegetarians and keeping them in close to the rock ledges. The beaches are producing tailor and salmon on ganged pillies and bream in the gutters on smaller baits such as worms, pippies and small pilchard pieces.
Good luck and tight lines.
